Khasm Labs, LLC (“Khasm Labs” or “We”) endeavors to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and respects the privacy of its customers and affiliates. Purpose
The purpose of this Policy is to express that Khasm Labs takes appropriate steps to use, request, collect, store, or disclose information when you engage with Khasm Labs or utilize any products or services (collectively the “Services”) including but not limited to participation in the Program.
This Policy governs any and all data collection and usage by Khasm Labs. Through the use of the Services and website, you are therefore consenting to the data collection procedures expressed in this Policy.
As a company with a global presence, Khasm Labs is subject to the varying requirements of data protection legislation in jurisdictions where Khasm Labs operates. Khasm Lab’s aim is to be as consistent as possible and obey all applicable laws and apply the highest standard of privacy laws.
Definitions
Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Any information about an individual or commercial entity, including any information that can be used to distinguish or trace an individual’s identity, such as name, address, email address, telephone number and demographic information, such as age, gender, and interests, that you voluntarily give Khasm Labs in participation in the Program, provision of Services or interaction with Khasm Lab’s website http://khasmnetworks.com.
Program: Khasm Lab’s bi-annual program consisting of corporate entities or startups, which have applied and are accepted to participate (“Members”).
Notice
Khasm Labs respects your privacy. Khasm Labs maintains and reserves the right to contact you if needed for non-marketing purposes (i.e. bug alerts, security breaches, account issues, or changes in Services). In certain circumstances, Khasm Labs may use its website, private portal, or other public means to post a Notice or send automated messages to Members.
Choice and Consent
All visitors to Khasm Lab’s website have the option to discontinue receiving communications from Khasm Labs by way of email or automated messages. To discontinue or unsubscribe from Khasm Lab’s communications please send an email that you wish to unsubscribe to jim@khasmlabs.com, steven@khasmlabs.com, or click the link in an email or on the website to unsubscribe. If you wish to unsubscribe or opt-out from any third-party websites, you must go to that specific website to unsubscribe or opt-out. Khasm Labs will continue to adhere to this Policy with respect to any PII previously collected.
Collection
It is always up to you whether to disclose data or PII to Khasm Labs. Collection of PII is restricted to only that which is necessary.
We may collect PII about you from:
You
In your initial application;
In your participation and acceptance into the Program; or
As a Member; or
In your contact or company profile in our private portal.
Third Parties
To fulfill information in your Company’s Profile;
To provide Services; or
Pursuant to participation in the Program.
We maintain a Company Profile for corporate entities. A Company Profile is a collection of information from you and/or third parties which consists of information about your company, such as company name, email, phone number(s), website, logo, fundraising information, pitch decks, partner meeting recordings, and engagements brokered between your company and our corporate partners. When we create or enhance a Company Profile, we may collect this information from multiple sources, including but not limited to the following:
You;
Publicly available web sources that we scan using technology or manual methods;
Other Member or user contributions about a corporate entity;
Research conducted internally by Khasm Labs; or
Other companies and partners that license information to or from Khasm Labs.
We may have the occasion to collect non-personal anonymous demographic information, such as age, gender, household income, political affiliation, race and religion, as well as the type of browser you are using, IP address, or type of operating system, which assists Khasm Labs in providing and maintaining superior quality service.
We may have the occasion to collect cookies, sent from your web browser. You may limit the collection of cookies through your browser settings.
Khasm Lab’s website is not directed to, and does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from, children. If it is determined that such information has been inadvertently collected from children, Khasm Labs shall immediately take the necessary steps to ensure that such information is deleted from Khasm Labs databases, or in the alternative, that verifiable parental consent is obtained for the use and storage of such information. If you are a child, you must seek and obtain parent or guardian permission to use Khasm Lab’s website and/or Services.
Khasm Labs does not maintain your credit card information.
Use and Retention
Khasm Labs collects data for several reasons, including but not limited to:
To better understand your needs and provide you with Services;
To create or manage your account or Company Profile;
To contact you regarding your account, Membership, Services, or participation in the Program;
To fulfill Khasm Lab’s interest in improving Membership, Services, or participation in the Program;
To prevent fraudulent transactions, monitor against theft, and protect against criminal activity;
To contact you to fill out surveys or participate in other types of market research, with your consent;
To utilize Khasm Lab’s website according to your online behavior and personal preferences;
To respond to issues related to Services, Membership, or your participation in the Program;
To provide customer service through phone calls and post-call surveys; or
To respond to requests for information from law enforcement, regulatory or licensing authorities, or the state or federal government.
The data Khasm Labs collects from you will be stored for no longer than necessary. The length of time information is retained will be determined on elements including but not limited to the following:
The length of time your PII remains relevant;
The reasonable length of time to keep records to demonstrate Khasm Labs has fulfilled its duties and obligations;
The time period as required by law or recommended by regulators, professional bodies, or associations; or
The requirements as prescribed in any and all contracts with you, the existence of your consent, and in Khasm Lab’s legitimate interest in keeping such information as stated in this Policy.
Khasm Labs will delete information once it no longer needs to be retained.
Disclosure and Onward Transfer
Khasm Labs may not use or disclose the information provided by you except under the following circumstances:
As necessary to enhance Membership, Services, the Program;
In order ways described in this Policy or to which you have otherwise consented;
In the aggregate with other information in such a way so that your identity cannot reasonably be determined;
As required by law, or in response to a subpoena or search warrant, to protect the rights, property, and safety of others;
To outside auditors who have agreed to keep the information confidential;
As necessary to enforce Terms of Service; or As necessary to maintain, safeguard and preserve all the rights and property of Khasm Labs.
Third Parties. Khasm Labs may share information with third parties that perform services for Khasm Labs or on Khasm Lab’s behalf, including marketing efforts, PR efforts, data analyses, email delivery hosting services, location services, customer service, and marketing assistance.
Khasm Lab’s website contains links to affiliate and other websites. Khasm Labs does not claim nor accept responsibility for any privacy policies, practices, and/or procedures of other such websites. Therefore, Khasm Labs encourages all users and visitors to be aware when leaving Khasm Lab’s website, to read the privacy policies and/or statements of every website visited or that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy only applies to information collected by our website, in provision of Services or Program participation by Khasm Labs and its affiliates.
You may request and obtain information about categories of PII (if any) disclosed to third parties, if any, as well as the names and addresses of all third parties with which Khasm Labs shared PII in the immediately preceding calendar year. Quality and Integrity
Khasm Labs endeavors to maintain accurate PII, and where necessary, kept up to date. Khasm Labs will take reasonable steps to rectify or delete information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
You may rectify inaccurate information in your Company Profile. Outreach on maintaining accuracy of your information may be directed to Jim@khasmlabs.com.
Security
Khasm Labs takes precautions to protect your information. When Khasm Labs collects information, the information is protected both online and offline. Khasm Labs uses administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect PII, including but not limited to:
The Khasm Labs website uses SSL;
Account passwords require Single Sign-On (SSO);
Access to Khasm Labs Portal is limited on a need-to-know basis and requires Two-Factor Authentication (2FA); and
Industry best practices.
Khasm Labs utilizes encryption in transit and at rest. Only Khasm Labs employees who need the information to perform a particular role or task are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers and services in which Khasm Labs stores personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. This is done to prevent any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of PII under Khasm Labs control.
Although Khasm Labs works to protect the privacy of a Member’s account, other PII, or information we hold in Khasm Lab’s records, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that information during transmission through the internet or while stored in Khasm Lab’s systems will be absolutely safe from intrusion by malicious actors.
Privacy by Design
Khasm Labs implements Privacy-By-Design principles into the Khasm Labs software development lifecycle. Khasm Labs monitors training and enforcement of this Privacy Policy internally.
Right to Know Disclosures
Khasm Labs respects all applicable local laws for data subject rights. This includes rights to request access or deletion of personal data. Outreach may be directed to Jim@khasmlabs.com.
